Flexographic printing has entered China for a long time. As early as the 1950s and 1960s, domestic printing industry predecessors introduced this printing method to China, but at that time it was called flexographic printing. Due to the printing knowledge and related supporting reasons at that time, it was not able to develop at the end. On the contrary, the gravure printing machine that entered China in the same period was recognized. In the 1970s, flexographic printing technology developed rapidly after major breakthroughs in the technology of printing plates and ceramic anilox rolls. Most packaging printing in Europe and the United States began to turn to flexo printing. China has also introduced related flexographic printing equipment from abroad since the 1990s and has developed rapidly in recent years. Let us take a closer look at the satellite flexo press.
Simply put, the flexographic printing press is currently divided into three types: stacked, united, and satellite.
Cascading is the simplest and cheapest way to print. It is also the most popular flexographic printing machine in the current flexo printing market in China. At present, most of the flexo printing machines in China are concentrated in the Pearl River Delta region. In the early 1980s, Hong Kong companies modeled on Japanese models and began to sell in China in the 1980s following the national reform and opening up policy. It is mainly used for printing of portable shopping bags, vest bags, simple clothing bags, electronic components and other packaging products. Due to the gravure platemaking time and price reasons at the time, the cascading flexographic printing machine was rapidly developed with the advantages of fast plate making time, low price and low unit price. Later, in the 1990s, domestic cascading flexo printing presses began to appear, and gradually replaced the cascading flexographic printing presses produced by Hong Kong businessmen. With incomplete statistics, there are more than 3,000 such cascading flexo presses in the Pearl River Delta, ranging from monochrome to two-color to ten-color. At present, there are also manufacturers in the Yangtze River Delta to produce cascading flexographic printing presses, and have absorbed foreign self-adhesive label printing equipment to enter the label printing industry. The cascading flexographic printing press has the advantages of small footprint, simple operation, and low price. However, its shortcomings are also outstanding, mainly because the overprinting accuracy is low, only ±0.5mm, which cannot be used for printing high-precision packaging products. The speed is slow, due to the structure and drying reasons, the fastest 70m / min, some machines can also achieve 100m / min monochrome printing.
The unit type flexo printing machine is the same as the popular gravure printing machine in China, and adopts the unit arrangement. At present, manufacturers at home and abroad have proposed a platform concept, in which the printing color group or functional color group can be interchanged at will, and the process is freely exchanged, which is very flexible. With the introduction of the first equipment in the 1990s, there have been more than 500 unit-type flexographic printing presses imported and produced in China. And it will increase by more than 50 per year. The unit type flexographic printing machine has a wide range of printing substrates and is easy to operate. The overprinting accuracy is within ±0.2mm, and the printing speed is in the medium speed range, which is basically within 220m/min. However, the unit type flexographic printing machine is widely distributed below 600mm, and is often referred to as a narrow-width flexographic printing machine in the industry. The unit type flexographic printing machine is mainly used for products with higher added value such as cigarette packets and self-adhesive labels.
The satellite flexo printing machine is a less developed and slower application in the Chinese region, which has a greater relationship with the industry and its historical reasons. The advantages of satellite flexo printing are actually very many, except for the advantages of high precision and fast speed. In the printing of large-area color blocks (in the field), there is actually a very big advantage, which is comparable to gravure printing. Since the ceramic anilox roller is used to precisely control the amount of ink to be carried, when printing a large solid color block by the flexographic printing method, it is only required to have an ink amount of about 1.2 g per square meter without affecting the color saturation. Intaglio printing requires 3g/m2 or even higher (there is an article data showing 4~6g/m2). Together with the solvent used, the actual cost is far higher than the flexo printing method. Another advantage is that the user is concerned about the problem - energy consumption, due to the relationship between flexographic printing structure, ink, ink loading, etc., and does not require too much heat, the printed work can be thoroughly dried . Therefore, usually an 8-color flexographic printing machine, under the premise of speed of 300m / min, the electric heating method used does not exceed 80KW / hour. Other printing methods usually require more than 150kw/hour of energy consumption, or even higher. This is a very good news for the current situation of domestic electricity consumption is not optimistic. Of course, satellite flexo presses still have their shortcomings. Mainly in the printing and reduction, although it can be printed to 175 lines of products, but with the increase in related costs, the overall application is still different from offset printing, gravure and so on. When printing high-line products, it is powerless. This is a common problem of flexo printing and the most important place to improve.
Let us take a look at the main technical parameters, components and structure of the satellite flexo press.
The technical level of the satellite flexo press can be more accurately expressed by the following performance system:
l Maximum printing color number
l adapted printing materials
l printing width
l Printed graphic repeat length range
l drying method
l printing speed
l ink type
l Control method
The maximum number of printing colors indicates the number of printing colors, generally at least four colors, up to ten colors; the adaptable printing materials are very extensive for satellite flexo printing machines, which is its greatest advantage. Almost all printable coils on the market can be printed on satellite flexo presses; print width refers to the wide range of printing that can be printed on the device; the printed graphic repeat length range refers to the The minimum and maximum values of the device in the length direction. Usually the standard satellite flexo printing machine ranges from 300mm to 1000mm; the drying method can be selected according to the actual needs of customers: hot air drying or UV drying; printing speed is the maximum printing speed of the equipment; ink type Which kind of ink is used in the equipment: water-soluble ink, solvent-based ink, UV ink, etc.; control mode, whether the equipment adopts manual quick adjustment or automatic adjustment control.
In general, the components of a satellite flexo press include:
1. Unwinding and inputting
2. Printing section
3. Dry part (dry and final drying)
4. Cooling section
5. Output and Winding Section
6. Wire processing part
7. Main drive
8. Control section
