Since the beginning of the 21st century, various technologies have developed rapidly, and the trend of energy conservation, low carbon, environmental protection and sustainable development has become increasingly prominent. As the main medium of color, the green process of ink is also attracting attention. Therefore, the type and performance of green ink should be understood in detail.

Green inks are rich in variety

Reducing the energy consumption of the printing industry and reducing carbon emissions through the improvement of ink technology is an inevitable choice to ensure that the entire industry is more compliant with the trend of green environmental protection. At present, a lot of green inks have been put into use and quality control, which has turned into productivity and created social benefits. Of course, there are still many green ink technologies that require us to further develop and promote. Next, we will introduce several popular green ink products. , communicate with the industry.

1. Rice bran ink

Rice bran ink technology originated from Drupa, Japan. At present, there are many institutions and enterprises in China to study it. The main reason is that China and Japan are both rice edible and producing countries. The rice bran produced in the process of rice production has been used only as an animal. Feed, far from exerting its maximum value, and the development of rice bran oil refining technology and the technical breakthrough of rice bran oil in ink design not only maximize the value of rice bran, but also make the environmental protection and sustainability of printing inks Got further improvement.

The main advantages of rice bran ink are: low VOC residue, low migration, and low environmental pollution; rice bran resources are easy to localize, in line with China's national conditions; rice bran ink has high gloss, low residue of harmful substances in printed products, high safety . However, the development of rice bran ink is also affected by some objective conditions and ink performance defects, including: China's rice bran oil refining and utilization technology is still not developed and popularized, the degree of scale is not enough, the cost of rice bran oil is relatively high; the rice bran ink is completely The drying speed is slow; the application technology of rice bran ink is not popular enough, and the printing operation and control details are not well known.

At present, the research of Keyin's fine products, rice bran ink has not been widely used in China, there are few ink suppliers who master this technology, only a small number of applications in the field of food packaging and beverage packaging, but in the long run, rice bran ink is particularly suitable Developed and promoted in such a rice-producing country in China.

2.UV-LED ink

LED technology can be said to be a technological imposition developed on the basis of UV technology. The LED light source with short-wavelength UV light has been seen everywhere in the billboards of streets and alleys, and the LED ink with medium-long wavelength UV light is used. Curing technology has only begun to emerge in recent years, and the matching UV-LED ink has also been developed. UV-LED inks can be classified according to absorption wavelength, and the main absorption wavelengths are 365 nm, 380 nm, 390 nm, 395 nm, 400 nm, and the like. Due to the lower price of LED curing systems with wavelengths above 390 nm, LED curing systems in the 390-400 nm band are currently the main packaging products for washing, and UV-LED inks are also suitable for this wavelength range.

The advantages of UV-LED inks mainly include: the traditional offset printing machine UV lamp has a single power of about 12 kW, and the LED lamp power is less than 1 kW, so the power consumption of the UV-LED ink curing process is greatly reduced; UV-LED ink Ozone is not generated during the curing process, so the residual odor in the environment and the printed product is lower; the UV-LED ink hardly releases heat during the curing process, so it is particularly suitable for the printing of bill papers and films sensitive to temperature; UV- LED inks are fully printed during the printing process. LED tubes can be turned on and off. Unlike UV lamps, which require cooling and preheating, they consume less energy and are more efficient. LED lamps have a long service life. Generally more than 10,000 hours, greatly reducing maintenance costs.

Although the advantages of UV-LED inks are clearly embossed, there is still a long way to go from popularization, mainly for the following reasons. First, UV-LED inks need to produce a photocuring reaction under extremely narrow-band UV light. The photosensitizer in the ink is more purposeful and efficient in the selection and preparation, so the production cost of the ink is 15% higher than that of the conventional UV ink. The above digital printing machines, the price is naturally higher, so the current domestic printing companies are still difficult to accept; secondly, the cost of LED curing system is higher, the price of a group of LED lamps is basically more than 100,000 yuan, more expensive than UV lamps More; once again, the integration technology of LED tubes is not popular enough. The height of the lamp from the printing paper is lower than that of the traditional UV lamp, which is not suitable for single-sheet offset printing. Finally, the environmental awareness of domestic printing companies is still relatively weak. The comprehensive consideration of social and economic benefits, combined with the lack of sound laws or regulations in the domestic environmental protection field or lack of execution, has hindered the development of UV-LED inks and related technologies.

From the recent situation, the popularization trend of LED technology is quite obvious. At present, breakthroughs have been made in the field of electronic component printing, flexographic printing, and ticket rotation printing. It is believed that with the improvement of China's overall environmental awareness and related laws and regulations. Improve the all-in-one exhibition, it is expected that in the next 3 to 5 years, UV-LED inks and related technologies will be greatly developed.

3.UV-LES ink

The development of UV-LES inks came from the cost of disasters. The accident in the Fukushima earthquake in Japan caused extreme energy shortages in Japan, which greatly promoted the development of UV-LES inks. Like the UV-LED ink, UV-LES ink also has the characteristics of energy saving and emission reduction. Compared with ordinary UV ink, it can save more than 60% of curing power, does not produce ozone, and is in the process of equipment modification and operation. Conventional UV curing systems are closer, easier to accept packaging printing, and printer equipment suppliers are more involved. For example, Mitsubishi's ecoUV curing system and Komori's H-UV curing system are quite mature. Devices using UV-LES inks are quite common in Japan, and some printing companies in the country have adopted such equipment and inks.

4. Waterless offset ink

The waterless offset printing ink technology begins with oily waterless offset printing ink, and then gradually develops into UV waterless offset printing ink. Compared with traditional water offset printing ink, the waterless offset printing ink does not involve ink balance in the printing process. It is mainly realized by controlling the temperature of the rubber roller, which solves the problem that the printing enterprise discharges a large amount of sewage to a certain extent. At present, the biggest bottleneck in the development of waterless offset ink technology is that there are very few ink manufacturers capable of producing high quality waterless offset inks in China. Only Hangzhou, DIC, Tianjin Dongyang and other companies, in addition to equipment operation, waterless offset printing on the printing environment and The control requirements are quite high, especially the stability requirements of the printing environment are very demanding, thus affecting its promotion in domestic printing enterprises. However, in the long run, the popularity and application of waterless offset inks is the general trend.

The application and development of green environmental protection technology is first reflected in the fields closely related to our daily life, such as electrical appliances, toys, food, cosmetics, etc. The ink and printing industries, as supporting industries, often need to react early. From the recent development trend, the ink and printing industry has gradually promoted green environmental protection products and technologies, and participated in the formulation of relevant green environmental protection standards and standards. The gradual transformation from the passive to the active role not only reflects the development of the ink and printing industry technology and the progress of the printers, but also reflects the increased awareness of the social responsibility of the practitioners, while the responsibility is the continuous improvement of the green technology. The biggest motivation.
