As we all know, there are two main types of inkjet printer nozzles and ink cartridges. The first one is that the ink cartridges and the nozzles are combined in one manufacturing, which is called one-piece type; the other is that the ink cartridges and the nozzles are independent. For the split type. The use of integrated inkjet cartridges is mainly HP, Lexmark and Lenovo brand printers, and HP also has some commercial and large format inkjet printer cartridges with a split design. The main use of split inkjet cartridges is the Epson and Canon brand printers.


The situation of generating a large amount of waste ink during the printing process is mainly concentrated on the inkjet printer adopting the split design. The main reason is that the split structure is adopted: since only the ink cartridge needs to be replaced, the joint between the nozzle and the ink cartridge is easy to enter. Air, the air entering from the nozzle can easily "support" the hole that is thinner than the hair, so that the ink can not be unblocked, causing the disconnection in the printing. The printing after the disconnection will make the text lack of strokes and pictures. Horizontal stripes and severe white lines. At the same time, in order to meet the needs of high-speed printing, the current inks are all fast-drying type. The long-term use of the printer and the drying of the air, etc., cause the residual ink on the nozzle to condense and cause the disconnection in the printing. Of course, because Epson inkjet printers use different inkjet methods, the nozzles are fixed inside the printer, which is difficult for ordinary users to remove. This problem is particularly obvious.


In order to solve problems such as print breaks and unclear writing, all inkjet printers are equipped with a hardware system for ink cleaning and nozzle maintenance on the far right side of the machine. The inside of the printer is equipped with a rubber-made rubber scraper. The rubber scraper is used to scrape off the dirt attached to the nozzle surface. At the same time, after the printer stops printing, the ink cart automatically returns to the “nozzle protection seat”, and the sealing function of the “nozzle protection seat” is implemented. Short-term sealing prevents the ink from drying off the nozzle.


For split-type models that are prone to breakage, the manufacturer has adopted a more comprehensive nozzle cleaning and dredging system, that is, a pump attachment with a special cleaning nozzle under the “nozzle protection seat”, which periodically extracts the ink from the ink cartridge. Let each ink pass through the nozzle hole, and finally spray from the nozzle to achieve the purpose of clearing the pipeline to ensure smooth flow. The inks of various colors sprayed from the nozzle are finally mixed together to become waste ink, which is to clean the print head. Throughout the process, many people refer to it as "shampoo". The waste ink generated by “shampooing” has to be stored in a place, so the manufacturer set up a separate plate in the lower part of the printer, called the waste ink tank (also called waste ink tray), and the waste ink of “washing the head” passes through the pipeline. Go directly to the waste ink tank below the printer.


The integrated inkjet printer replaces the ink cartridge and replaces the nozzle, so there is no pump attachment, there is no ink cleaning, it produces less waste ink, the waste ink tank is under the "nozzle protection seat", the waste ink tank is in the rubber The residual ink scraped off by the scraper will be tied into the waste ink bin over time. The split type waste ink is large in volume, and the volume of the waste ink tank is also large. At the same time, cotton felt is placed in the waste ink tank to adsorb waste ink.
