The thickness of the printed ink layer has a great influence on the quality of the printed product. Practice has proved that the thickness of the printed ink layer is related to the viscosity and fluidity of the ink. The viscosity of the ink is too large, the ink layer is thick, and the paper pull phenomenon occurs when printing; the ink viscosity is too small, the ink layer is thin, the ink roller is slippery when it is rotated, and the ink stick is caused, the dot is enlarged, the image is distorted, and the printed product is printed. The surface gloss is poor. Therefore, accurately controlling the thickness of the ink layer is an important part of the quality control of the printed product.

To accurately control the thickness of the ink layer, it is necessary to analyze according to the actual production conditions (such as ink properties, layout structure, temperature, printing speed, paper absorbency, surface smoothness, etc.). Generally, under the conditions of low ambient temperature and relatively dry climatic conditions, the surface ink layer can be suitably thin; conversely, when the temperature is high, the printed ink layer should be thicker. When the surface of the printing paper is rough and the ink absorption is strong, the ink layer is appropriately thickened, and the layout is not easy to be embossed. If the printed product is mainly based on the screen image, the ink layer should be thinner to avoid paste. If printing a solid version, the ink layer should be thicker. In addition, when the speed of the printing press is fast, the ink layer can be appropriately thickened to achieve the desired ink color. In short, the above methods can be used flexibly in production to obtain better results.

When the viscosity of the ink is improper, causing the surface to bloom or floating ink, add an appropriate amount of No. 0 varnish to the ink. Mix the varnish in the ink when mixing.
