A 33,000-ton biodegradable packaging products project in Hebei is expected to start operation in May next year
Recently, the main structure of the Liya New Materials Industrial Technology R&D Center project, invested by Xiongan Liya Technology Group Co., Ltd. with 200 million yuan, was successfully topped off, and it is expected to be put into use in May 2026. This project is not only the core carrier for Liya Packaging's transformation from traditional packaging to green intelligent packaging, but also a vivid practice of the Xiongan Comprehensive Free Trade Zone empowering the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries through technological innovation and building a green industrial system, injecting strong momentum into the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries in the new area.
After completion, the project will be equipped with core facilities such as an intelligent three-dimensional logistics warehouse, a comprehensive R&D office building, pilot and clean workshops, connecting the full chain loop of "R&D - pilot production - mass production"; at the same time, cutting-edge intelligent equipment such as four-way automated storage vehicles will be introduced. After production, the project will have an annual production capacity of 33,000 tons of biodegradable packaging products, truly achieving "R&D in Xiongan, output globally," advancing the traditional packaging industry toward high-end, green, and intelligent transformation in a solid step.

Liya Packaging, which has been deeply involved in the packaging sector for many years, is not only a benchmark enterprise in Xiong County's traditional packaging industry, but also a 'pioneer' in industry transformation. Relying on a solid industrial foundation, the company has successfully entered the list of quality suppliers for leading platforms such as JD.com, Taobao, and overseas e-commerce, achieving an initial breakthrough in the traditional packaging track and breaking the industry's stereotype of 'low added value and homogeneity.'
"Settling in the Xiong'an Comprehensive Bonded Zone is a key step for the company to transform from 'traditional manufacturing' to an integrated model of 'R&D, manufacturing, and trade,' and it is also a firm attempt to leverage the new district platform to promote the quality and efficiency of the entire traditional packaging industry," said the head of Xiong'an Liya Technology Group Co., Ltd., with a firm tone regarding the project implementation. The R&D headquarters covers 20.56 acres, with a building area of 24,791.12 square meters. From the initial planning stage, it was positioned with the core principles of 'high starting point, high standards, high value,' completely breaking free from the development dilemma of traditional packaging enterprises that 'focus on production but neglect R&D,' creating a modern, intelligent new-material innovation base.
Currently, China's traditional packaging industry faces development bottlenecks of 'high pollution, high cost, and low efficiency,' with problems such as non-degradable plastic packaging, high costs of environmentally friendly packaging, and insufficient product performance, which restrict the sustainable development of the traditional packaging industry. Liya Packaging, holding the qualification of a provincial-level technology innovation center, has set up its R&D headquarters in the Xiong'an Comprehensive Bonded Zone. The core goal is to use technological innovation to solve the pain points of the traditional packaging industry, promote the industry's transition from 'traditional plastic packaging' to 'biodegradable intelligent packaging,' and pave a new path for green upgrading of the traditional industry.

Relying on the R&D headquarters, we tackle industry pain points and promote industrial upgrading through a 'two-step' strategy: initially focusing on core technologies such as material modification and waste recycling to reduce the cost of eco-friendly packaging, optimize product performance, and drive the transformation of traditional packaging from 'high pollution' to 'low emission'; subsequently extending to the research and development of high-end nano composite materials, exploring packaging solutions that are both environmentally friendly and multifunctional, achieving a leap of traditional packaging from 'basic environmental protection' to 'high-end intelligent', meeting the demands of high-end fields such as food and medical applications, and helping the traditional packaging industry shed its low value-added label and move towards high-end intelligent manufacturing.
