Each of the 24 color patches represents the true color of the natural object, such as: sky blue, skin color, or leaf green, and the light reflection of each color block is the same as its corresponding real object. If you are filming a digital photo or video, and the color is important to you. The first thing you want to shoot is the ColorChecker standard color card. When using the ColorChecker color card, you only need to frame and illuminate normally. Then place the ColorChecker color card on the photo scene. It does not need to fill the viewfinder. Just make sure the camera can capture all the color patches. And it is located in a representative part of the composition instead of being in the shadow or in the overexposed highlight position, you can additionally check the color reflected by other objects and not cast it on the color card, then take a picture, when the image is When Photoshop is opened, there will be a built-in reference point. The black block is sampled with a color picker.
The difference between red, green and blue should be within 7 units and the color value should be approximately 50. Although the black color block is very dark, it is not considered pure black because it is a faded color. The same procedure is applied to the white block. The white block should be very light, but not pure white. The red, green and blue values should each be approximately 245. The work is almost done. Finally, we need to check the color cast and select the middle gray color block. The red, green, and blue values should be approximately 128. The difference between each other should not exceed 7 points. If the reading is very deviated, apply the level or curve back to the above state. Then save the changed settings to apply to other images taken with this setting. Further visual color matching can be performed with the remaining patches. Note: A calibrated display should be used and the ColorChecker color card should be placed under a standard light source that controls the lighting conditions.
