Ricoh and Brother Reach Strategic Cooperation to Expand A4 Printing Market
Ricoh Canada and Brother International Canada have announced that the two companies have formed a strategic alliance in Canada. This move is an extension of their existing cooperation in the United States, aiming to provide the market with a comprehensive and complementary portfolio of document solutions.
According to the cooperation agreement, Ricoh will introduce Brother's exclusive product series to expand its A4 office printing solution lineup. By combining Ricoh's A4 printing devices with Brother's desktop multifunction printers and single-function printers, enterprise customers can obtain a unified and complete printing solution from Ricoh, offering more options for upgrading printing infrastructure and optimizing workflows in hybrid and distributed work environments.
Scott Dabbich, Vice President of Business Strategy and Operations, North America at Ricoh, stated, "Canadian businesses of all types are reshaping office models to adapt to modern ways of working. They need flexible printing solutions that support distributed team operations without adding complexity. By expanding our A4 product line with Brother's exclusive series, we provide our customers with more choices, higher value, and solutions tailored to the current office work environment. Partnering with Brother further strengthens our ability, as a single provider, to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions. We look forward to working together to create new value for our customers."
According to a Robert Half survey, 53% of employers in Canada offer hybrid work models for managerial staff, and one-third offer hybrid options to all full-time employees, regardless of rank. Driven by the popularity of hybrid and remote work, companies need more compact printing devices for distributed office scenarios. Ricoh will fully introduce the entire Brother exclusive series, including models like Brother MFC‑L6915DW, HL‑L6415DW, to supplement and expand its own A4 product line, which includes Ricoh models such as IM C320F and P C375.
With Brother's exclusive series integrated into Ricoh's A4 printing lineup, Ricoh stated it will offer businesses of all sizes more choices of cost-effective, high-quality printing devices. These devices can seamlessly integrate with digital workflows and provide secure mobile and cloud printing solutions, suitable for flexible working scenarios. The expanded product line provides new options for document-intensive industries, such as healthcare, legal, financial, and retail sectors, helping customers manage their entire printing infrastructure through a single supplier and utilize the unified printing management platform RICOH Streamline NX, which will be adapted to support Brother devices.
Tanya Godfredo, Senior Director of Product Planning at Brother International Canada, stated, "Brother is honored to cooperate with Ricoh and bring our exclusive series to more businesses in Canada. This alliance combines Brother's consistently reliable and cost-effective technology with Ricoh's deep expertise in workflow optimization. Together, we provide businesses of all sizes with compact, high-performance printing devices, supporting hybrid and remote work, and achieving excellent office efficiency and long-term value."
