"100 million" is not achieved overnight. Amcor Group has been rooted in Lingang for more than 30 years and regards Lingang as its most important manufacturing base. In 2022, Amcor Group opened an important part of its global R&D network. "This is the first R&D center in the Asia-Pacific region, and there are four options in different countries when selecting the site, and finally we chose to land in Jiangyin Lingang, because of the obvious location advantages, complete industrial facilities, and seamless docking with the three factories in Jiangyin." R&D and production are only separated by one road, and this convenience promotes the strong release of Amcor's innovation momentum. In the production workshop of the factory of Amcor's new materials division, a 10-million-level "giant" equipment is particularly eye-catching, and all kinds of film blowing machines are in full swing, and only a few people are needed to operate in the huge production workshop. It is understood that the factory relies on the strong R&D strength of the Asia-Pacific R&D center to achieve product development, such as "bag-in-box" and other new packaging technologies developed by the Chinese team have also begun to export to overseas markets.
The rapid growth of consumption in snacks, pets, coffee and other industries has brought new opportunities and challenges to the packaging industry. "Driven by live broadcast, the pace of new product listing has been greatly accelerated, it originally took half a year to a year for a new product to be launched, and now there will be new products launched every 2-3 months, which is also a big test for the innovation of packaging products." Wang Zhonglin, vice president of R&D of Amcor Group in Greater China, said that now, through the creative laboratory of the Asia-Pacific R&D center, the packaging ideas received from customers in the morning can be transformed into a prototype product that can be known and felt in the afternoon.

"Safety is particularly important in the process of high-speed rotation of packaging production, and the dozens of devices used to monitor operating specifications, which used to take two hours to look back with the naked eye, are now completely entrusted to AI, and automatic identification takes only 18 minutes."
Among these 100 million packaging products, there are more and more high value-added products. "Amcor's only pharmaceutical packaging factory in China is in Lingang, Jiangyin."
