On August 7, Hangzhou Customs notified that 18 TEUs and more than 220 tons of waste paper with excess entrainment were shipped from Zhejiang Jiaxing Port and returned from the country under the strict supervision of the customs.
After identification, the returned waste paper entrained materials exceeded the standard, containing other types of waste and carrying pests, vector-borne organisms, etc., did not meet the relevant environmental protection control standards for solid wastes in China, and the customs returned them to the country according to law.
This is the fourth batch of waste paper that has been returned by Hangzhou Customs within one week since August, and more than 1,100 tons of excess waste paper has been returned. On August 2, nearly 400 tons of waste paper from Huzhou Port were returned to the country by customs. On August 4, a batch of more than 500 tons of waste paper at Jiaxing Port was returned to the country after the company submitted an application for return to the customs.
In fact, since this year, Hangzhou Customs has filed 16 cases of solid waste import cases (including 11 criminal cases) and seized 3,810 tons of solid waste.
