According to a report by the German print media on July 9, the Fogra Media Technology Institute announced a new version of the PSD manual (Digital Printing Process Standard). The 2018 manual introduces the new feature datasets for Fogra 53 and Fogra 54 and describes the updated PSD tolerances for color evaluation of print production. In order to draw a line from the previous revisions, future PSD tolerances will be distinguished by "PSD-2011", "PSD-2016" and current as "PSD-2018".

All necessary objective inspection methods are included in the PSD manual, including ratings and tolerance ranges and operating instructions for digital printing process standards. This standard was established in 2011 by the Digital Printing Working Group to enable users to achieve predictable print quality not only in small size but also in large format digital printing.

According to the development of technology, PSD will be revised regularly. As Fogra knows, at the same time, the International Organization for Standardization has published the ISO/TS 15311-2 standard text, which includes the technical parameters of the PSD.
