On July 15, the finals of the 9th National Printing Industry Vocational Skills Competition, jointly hosted by the National Press and Publication Administration and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and organized by the China Printing Technology Association, officially kicked off in Tianjin. Officials from relevant departments of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, as well as responsible officials from the China Printing Technology Association and the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, attended the opening ceremony.

On the journey of building a culturally strong nation, we need to create fertile ground for nurturing talent so skills grow within a solid system, provide smooth pathways for talent to ensure their skills are valued, and foster a culture that celebrates expertise so that skill recognition has warmth. This will help mould a formidable team of master craftsmen in the printing industry for the new era. This competition, the first national-level event in the printing industry during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, holds special significance as it connects past achievements with future development. The National Printing Industry Vocational Skills Competition is the highest-level, largest-scale, and most influential national vocational skills competition in China's printing field. Since its first event in 2008, it has promoted learning, training, and production through competition. Nearly 9,000 participants have advanced their professional skills through the competition, nurturing and selecting a group of highly skilled and competent industry talents, providing strong talent support for the high-quality development of the printing industry.
This year's competition is themed 'Skills Light the Way Forward', with over 7,000 printing industry professionals and students from 31 provinces (regions and cities) across the country taking part. After fierce competition, more than 460 contestants will go head-to-head in the finals in three events: plate maker, digital printer and print finisher.
