Optical anti-counterfeiting technology has many applications in daily life. For example, the 2015 version of 100 yuan used in the light security line, it is red in front view, it is green when it is tilted, and it can see the transparent “¥” when viewed from the light source. 100” denomination figures; the space commemorative banknote issued by the People’s Bank also uses an optical security line, which integrates a more complex micro-mirror structure and achieves a dynamic effect. The security line is bright and dark, and the light and dark are leaned back and forth. The area moves with it. At the same time, it uses a special structure. When the red denomination number "100" and the five-pointed star generated on a golden background are tilted, the red area and the golden background become green at the same time.
In 2015, ColorDanceTM (shown in Figure 1), a new optical anti-counterfeiting technology proposed by the Banknote Security Company, won the World Holographic Conference Holographic Technology Innovation Award. Below, the author will briefly introduce the ColorDanceTM optical anti-counterfeiting technology and related international technology.
ColorDanceTM Features and Benefits
ColorDanceTM integrates interference light and diffraction light into one and inherits the holographic mechanism. It is a brand-new technology that extends from traditional holographic technology and can provide more unique optical characteristics. Its advantages over traditional embossed holograms are:
(1) Natural and stable color, which can define the desired color freely and without limitation according to the needs of the product;
(2) Full-view dynamic images, such as scroll bars or orthogonal motion images that can move freely in the plane;
(3) Anti-counterfeiting features have a strong adaptability to light sources.
The above features only need to be deposited on the optical microstructure by vapor-depositing a reflective layer (for example, aluminum), similar to the conventional molding holographic process route. The so-called color or dynamic features are formed by the optical microstructure itself without the need for a colored coating such as ink.
The core of ColorDanceTM technology lies in the micro-structured physical model formed by complex calculations and precisely controlled microstructure topography (structure size error needs to be controlled within 20 nanometers). The self-developed micro-structure calculation software, optical platemaking process, and high-quality bulk copying process are necessary conditions for realizing this technology. Based on the above-mentioned novel optical anti-counterfeiting features and harsh process implementation conditions, ColorDanceTM is easier to identify and difficult to counterfeit than traditional holographic anti-counterfeiting technologies. The newly developed ColorDance-ShiftTM from Banknote Security combines the ColorShift and ColorDanceTM features, taking into account the light-changing background and the naturally stable color and dynamic characteristics of ColorDanceTM.
ColorDanceTM technology can handle a variety of high-end anti-counterfeiting product platforms, such as security lines, security labels, strips, transparent windows and other products applied to banknotes, hot stamping and other forms of application to card.
International related technical situation
1. Structure color technology of Japan Toppan
Optical anti-counterfeiting technologies like the ColorDanceTM technology feature first appeared around 2011. At that time, Japan's Toppan Co., Ltd., based on its advanced electron beam processing equipment, realized a new type of optical micro-structure on which a vapor-deposited reflective layer can form natural and stable color features. This technology was named Jewelton. As shown in Figure 2.
