1. The “SCSI card not found” prompt appears when the scanner is turned on.

A fuse is set on the SCSI card. When a bad circuit condition is encountered, the voltage is unstable or short-circuited, etc. will be automatically disconnected, and will be automatically connected after the line is good or the measured temperature is lowered.

2. The noise generated during scanning is very loud.

This is caused by the movement of the mechanical part of the scanner during operation and is closely related to the scanning speed. According to the specific software of each brand machine, the scanning speed can be set to medium speed or low speed to solve the problem.

3. The scanner could not be found.

Confirm that the scanner is powered on before the computer is turned on. If not, you can press the “Refresh” button of “Device Manager” to check if the scanner has self-test and the green indicator light is steady. If the answer is yes, the possibility of the scanner itself being faulty can be ruled out. If the scanner's indicator light blinks continuously, the scanner status is not normal. Check the scanner and computer interface cable first for problems and if the scanner driver is installed. In addition, you should check whether the scanner in Device Manager conflicts with other devices, IRQ or I/O address, and if there is a conflict, you can change the jumper on the SCSI card.

4. The scanner light is orange.

If the indicator light is always orange after the scanner is turned on, turn off the scanner and check that the scanner is plugged into the outlet and grounded. Turn on the scanner power switch after about 60 seconds.

5. The scanner's Ready light does not illuminate.

After turning on the scanner, if the Ready light is not lit, first check the scanner's internal lamp. If the internal lamp is bright, it may be related to room temperature. The solution is to turn off the scanner after the scanner is powered on for half an hour. After opening it in 1 minute, the problem can be solved. If the scanner still does not work at this time, first turn off the scanner, disconnect the scanner from the computer, set the SCSI ID value to 7, and turn the scanner on after about 1 minute. When the temperature is low in winter, it is best to warm up for a few minutes before use, so as to avoid the Ready light after the boot.

6. The color of the output image is not colorful enough.

If the scanned image is not bright enough, you can adjust the brightness, contrast, and gamma of the display first. The Gamma value is a sensory curve of the human eye from dark to bright.

The higher the Gamma value, the more pleasing the level of color. Gamma values can be adjusted in the scanner's own scanning application. Of course, in order to get better results, you can also adjust the Gamma value in Photoshop and other software, but this is a "post-adjustment", you can adjust the Gamma value according to the specific conditions of the scanned photos. In the scanner's own software, if it is for general use, the gamma value is usually set to 1.4, if it is used for printing, it is set to 1.8; the photo on the webpage is set to 2.2. Also, the scanner should be color corrected before use, otherwise it will most likely distort the scanned image; in addition, the “Brightness/Contrast” option in the scanner driver dialog can be adjusted.

7. The screen scanned by the scanner is blurred in color and some colors are incorrect.

The reason is as follows:

(1) It may be that the scanner's flat glass is dirty. Please wipe the glass with a clean cloth or paper. Be careful not to rub with a liquid such as alcohol, which will cause the scanned image to appear iridescent.

(2) Check the resolution of the scanner. For example, a 300dpi scanner scans images above 1200dpi. Because the 300dpi scanner sweeps 1200dpi is equivalent to putting a point four times larger.

(3) Check if the monitor settings are 16-bit color or higher.
