Features of screen printing

Screen printing is one of the four major printing methods, screen printing has the characteristics of low cost, long shelf life, bright color, fast production speed, etc., making it widely used in the printing of commodity trademarks, textiles, color oil paintings, and high-end packaging, and it can be said that the market prospect of screen printing is very good. Today, I will talk to you about the characteristics of screen printing, and I hope you can have a more comprehensive understanding of screen printing.
Web rotary screen printing uses a nickel metal circular screen plate, a built-in squeegee blade, and an automatic ink supply system that transfers the printing ink from the circular screen to the surface of the substrate supported by an imprint cylinder. The whole printing process is fully controlled by the computer from paper feeding, ink supply, color registration, UV dry bath, etc. The circular screen printing plate is made of 100% nickel non-woven fabric material, and the mesh is hexagonal filament-shaped hole by electroforming, and the whole mesh surface is flat and thin to ensure the imprinting integrity and precision. It is suitable for large-format rotary printing, with a maximum speed of 125m/min, and the screen can be reused 15 times. Therefore, web rotary screen printing can not only meet the requirements of special effects such as printing frosting and ice flowers, but also can be hot stamping holographic anti-counterfeiting logo, embossing, die-cutting and forming, and it is easy to realize high-speed automatic printing of cartons.
Environmentally-friendly UV screen printing metal-like etching inks are mainly composed of oligomers (i.e., light-curing resins), reactive diluents (i.e., photosensitive cross-linked monomers), photo(polymerization) initiators, and fillers. Printing on gold and silver cardboard, UV silk screen metal-like etching ink is quickly cured under ultraviolet light, and the surface of the printed matter produces a frosted effect.
Screen printing has the characteristics of thick ink layer, rich graphic and text layer, strong three-dimensional sense and wide printing materials, and its application in high-end tobacco and alcohol, food packaging cartons has gradually increased. The use of UV screen ink to print frosting, refraction, ice flowers, wrinkles and other effects on cigarette packs has greatly stimulated consumers' desire to buy. However, because of the low printing speed of flat-pressed screen printing, the slow curing speed of ink, the difficulty of controlling the printing quality, and the large consumption of printing materials, it cannot meet the needs of the scale and batch production of cigarette cartons. The use of high-speed rotary screen printing production line, fast printing speed, high yield, printing quality is not messy, low consumption, changed the traditional flat flat screen printing, manual paper supply, ink supply mode, suitable for high-speed automatic, large-scale batch production of exquisite folding cartons.
Under ultraviolet light, the photopolymerization initiator in UV ink absorbs photons of a certain wavelength and excites them to an excited state to form free radicals or ions. Then, through the transfer of intermolecular energy, polymers such as polymeric prepolymers and photosensitive monomers are turned into excited states to produce charge transfer complexes. Complexation rest is constantly cross-linked and solidified. UV ink selectively absorbs photons from ultraviolet light, and the dryness of UV ink is affected by the total energy of the UV light source and the energy distribution of different wavelengths. Solving the matching of UV ink and UV light source is conducive to speeding up the drying speed of ink, improving labor productivity and energy utilization, and reducing production cost.
